Traffic Safety Tips for Kids
It's important to play it safe when out riding your bike, riding in a car, walking, or crossing the street. Always pay attention to what is going on around you, especially when near the road. Trucks, cars, and other vehicles may not see you when you need to cross the street. Having an adult nearby is one good way to keep you safe, but here are a few more to help:

WEAR YOUR SEAT BELT - IT WILL SAVE YOUR LIFE!

Remember, when you get in a car, sit in the back seat or in your car or booster seat, and always buckle your seat belt! Seat belts are your best protection in any crash.

PUT ON A HELMET

When you're out riding your bike, scooter, skateboard, or roller-blading, you should always wear your helmet; it can save your life! But even with a helmet on, you need to stay alert and off the road.

WATCH OUT FOR YOURSELF- BECAUSE OTHERS MAY NOT SEE YOU

Some drivers are not so careful on the road or easily get distracted. So be aware and look around you when walking or riding near large trucks or cars. Don't play near them and always keep them in your sight.

BE SAFE AT NIGHT - WEAR REFLECTIVE CLOTHING

Wear light or reflective clothing at night so drivers can see you when you are near the street. Remember to always look both ways before walking across intersections and stay on the sidewalk.
